This is a photograph of an Omani lady in Al Haditha alley (Haditha means “new” in Arabic) located in Wilayat Al Hamraa which is located at the base of Shams (Arabic word for Sun) Mountain – the highest peak in the Sultanate. (Wilaya is Arabic for “state” which is comprised of governorates). The lady is seen wearing traditional Omani clothes which represent the “Dakhiliyah” region in the interior of Oman. She is balancing a pot filled with water over her head.
